| SREC - These are web courses offered through SREB's Electronic Campus, an "electronic marketplace" of online courses and | ||||||||||||
| programs from the South's colleges and universities. The Electronic Campus was designed to provide learning opportunities from | ||||||||||||
| accredited colleges and universities that offered courses and programs that exceed SREB's Principles of Good Practice. No on-site | ||||||||||||
| or on-campus physical meetings are required. | ||||||||||||
| Asynchronous 100% - Internet-based or on-line courses where students participate in the course using the internet for all | ||||||||||||
| coursework. The course is location and time independent, meaning that students and the professor are not in the same location | ||||||||||||
| at the same time during instruction. No on-site or on-campus physical meetings are required. | ||||||||||||
| Asynchronous 85 - 99% - Internet-based or on-line courses that may require an on-campus or on-site meeting. | ||||||||||||
| Asynchronous at least 50% - Internet-based or on-line courses but has more than three on-campus or on-site class sessions. | ||||||||||||

| College System (KCTCS) have entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) whereby the CTCS is making available, to a | ||||||||||||
| limited number of West Virginia college students, access to online courses provided by the KCTCS. These courses are created, | ||||||||||||
| taught and controlled by the KCTCS and cross-listed as credit courses by West Virginia community and technical colleges. | ||||||||||||
| IVN - Courses offered on live interactive two-way television in which students go to a classroom or receive site near them at an | ||||||||||||
| appropriate time. This compressed video provides two-way audio and video interaction. | ||||||||||||
| ITV - Students view the courses on television at home and then meet several times per term for live discussions and examinations. | ||||||||||||
| Other | ||||||||||||
